What Is Your Why?

Happy Friday y'all! I hope your 2014 has been off to a great start.

Let's dive right into this week's topic, "What Is Your Why?"

Why do you do what you do? Why do you love what you do? Why, why, why...

We have all asked ourselves at one point in our life,  although we seem to forget to constantly to remind ourselves. Your reason may be for your parents, your child, or just helping others in general. There are many reasons that motivate us to do what we do in our everyday life.

Do you wake up in the morning and ask yourself why do you go to work? I would think yes that we all can attest to this. Most of us work because it's what puts food on the table, pays the bills, provides for your family, etc. you get the drift.  I totally respect hard-working parents and admire those who work their asses off to provide for their family. I was raised by not only a hard working but single mother, growing up I always knew that her why was my brother and I. I am very blessed and fortunate to have a mother like her. The one thing I truly admire is her desire and willingness not to QUIT

Then there are others who drive to the next level and are not only passionate about what they do, but they know their WHY.

Trivia question for any basketball fans out there.

Do you know why Kevin Durant wears the number 35?

Well for those who don't know, his coach passed away at the age of 35 years. If you notice before every game he always touches the front and back of his jersey, then points up and dedicates every game to him. He could have easily just quit playing basketball when his coach passed away, but he made the decision right then and there that he was going to continue to play for him. His why is his coach and what motivates him to go even further. I truly admire his love for the game but most of all his why.

I understand some of you may not be happy with the way your life is going or with what you're currently doing. Therefore, I encourage you to ask yourself what is your why? It can be for one or many reasons, some of you may still be trying to figure out your why, and that's fine it will eventually come to you.

What I'm hoping this will do for you is to keep you motivated, to keep going even when the going gets tough. In today's economic times we all could use some encouragement and motivation to help us get through the tough times.

Until next week, have an awesome weekend. Cheers!
