There's No "I" In Team

Image
Who's ready for the Super Bowl this weekend? I am sure everyone is excited for the parties, half time performance but MOST of all the funny commercials. I always look forward to the commercials as well, maybe it's because I love marketing so much. Anyways, this week's topic is "There's No "I" In Team." As cliche this may seem, it holds up to be very true in our everyday lives. Football is one of my passions, I loved playing the game growing up but most of all the principles I learned from playing the game. Had it not been for football I probably would have been a troubled kid growing up but thank God for blessing me with the ability to play. The principles I adopted were determination, discipline, leadership, respect but most importantly TEAMWORK. All these principles have impacted my life so much that I still hold true to them even in my professional career and the way I do business on a daily basis. What does teamwork mean to you? Teamw...

Dreams...

I figured since MLK Day was this past Monday, that this would be a great topic to discuss this week. Why do we dream? What do we dream of? I have always wondered what the significance of dreaming was. Lately, I have been spending a lot of time with God and I have learned that dreams is one way He communicates with us. For instance, this morning I read Genesis 40, this is about when Joseph interprets two dreams to a cup-bearer and a baker. They told Joseph about their dreams and Joseph told them the significance behind them. If you get a chance read it, pretty great story. I thought waking up and reading this today was pretty cool to share since this week's topic is about dreams. I believe we dream because it gives us hope and inspiration from within us to go out do something significant with our life. Whatever it may be, its what keeps us going because we want to achieve something in our lifetime that we will be remembered for during our time here on Earth. Dr. Martin Luthe...

What Is Your Why?

Image
Happy Friday y'all! I hope your 2014 has been off to a great start. Let's dive right into this week's topic, "What Is Your Why?" Why do you do what you do? Why do you love what you do? Why, why, why... We have all asked ourselves at one point in our life,  although we seem to forget to constantly to remind ourselves. Your reason may be for your parents, your child, or just helping others in general. There are many reasons that motivate us to do what we do in our everyday life. Do you wake up in the morning and ask yourself why do you go to work? I would think yes that we all can attest to this. Most of us work because it's what puts food on the table, pays the bills, provides for your family, etc. you get the drift.  I totally respect hard-working parents and admire those who work their asses off to provide for their family. I was raised by not only a hard working but single mother, growing up I always knew that her why was my brother and I. I am v...

No More Resolutions, Challenge Yourself in 2014

Hope everyone enjoyed their holidays with their loved ones this holiday season. Well, let's dive right into today's topic. Resolutions, resolutions, resolutions... We have all been sold into the idea of making resolutions for the new year mostly our entire life and yet the majority of us never follow through with them. Why is that? Well, the reason I believe people never follow through is that they quit before they even try. For example, the most popular resolution people make every year is to lose weight or to start going to the gym. It's astounding how much revenue gyms bring in right after the holidays compared to the entire year. January has to be every gym rat's favorite month to go to the gym.(sarcasm) No offense, but we all have been guilty of this or know someone who has. We start off right for a few weeks and then we begin to get distracted with life. I understand that we all have our own problems or obstacles in life that distracts us from staying focuse...
